Chef Ivy Stark
Over the years chef Ivy Stark has worked to educate the masses that Mexican cuisine is so much more than ground beef tacos and a basket of chips with guac. Stark has brought the myriad flavors of Oaxaca and Baja California to the tables of New York through hot restaurants like Dos Caminos, Rosa Mexicano and El Toro Blanco. If there is an Iron Throne of New York’s Mexican cuisine, this Stark has a claim to it.
At Time Out Market New York she’ll be stepping out on her own with two concepts: BKLYN Wild on the ground floor and her signature restaurant at our rooftop: the former, a healthy plant-based concept and the second bringing her expertise cantina. As many of the ingredients as possible will be locally sourced from the borough itself, showcasing everything that is delicious right around us. With BKLYN Wild at Time Out Market, Stark is embracing a healthy plant-based menu that focuses on local ingredients that are actually local—as in, Brooklyn.
In this city we adore our taquerias and Mexican food trucks, though, for many of us, the first time we picked up a refined taco off elegant dishware was at an Ivy Stark restaurant—and we’ve been chasing the dragon ever since. Stark brings the élan she perfected at the city’s hotspots to her signature Time Out Market eatery serving elevated Mexican favorites like red quinoa molotes, fresh catch seafood cocktail with Anaheim chilies and a pomegranate dotted guacamole. Dig in.
